It focuses on interviewing and gathering evidence over an extended period of time. This course is suitable for those employed in a law enforcement field or aiming to become a law enforcement officer

Course Outline
This course is specifically designed for people wishing to gain accreditation to work within the Local Government Council Law Enforcement and Regulatory Services sector.

Entry Requirements
TMLE has no special requirements for entry into this course and it is open to everyone. There is however a requirement to be able to attend and understand Council meetings, speak to experienced Council Officers and to observe and understand Council functions.

Other Associated Costs
This course does require attendance at classes and any associated costs in regard to this aspect of the course delivery are to be met by the participant or their associated employer.
In addition to this there are some compulsory assessments and tasks to be completed, some of these will require access to a computer and the internet.
Award
Students will receive a Certificate of Competency in the nationally accredited, Certificate IV in Local Government (Regulatory Services) and a transcript of results.
Duration
TMLE allows participants 2 years to complete the course however students should aim to complete the course within 12 months.
Structure
The course requirements are met by:
- Individual study
- Assignment work which you will submit for comment and assessment
- Attendance at classroom instruction
- Classroom phases can be undertaken at any of our teaching locations as long as all requirements are met within the time frame of completion
Recognition
TMLE recognises the skills and experience you will have attained through previous study and work/life experience. If you are able to demonstrate competency in a module you will be given prior credit for that module.

Assessments
Assessment for this programme is conducted by:
- Assignments on work place scenarios
- Workbook activities reflecting typical workplace situations
- Classroom interaction and participation
- Record of hours reflecting current council duties or attending council meetings
- Examination
