Court Prosecuting Course

TMLE Pty Ltd is pleased to announce we have now received a costing and time frame for this unique ‘Court Prosecuting Course’. We would like to offer your organisation this excellent course for training senior staff members to prosecute your in house Local Court matters. TMLE will be delivering this unique course in most States, adapting relevant legislation to suit local needs.

 

Aims of the Course

The course will equip students with the knowledge and confidence to present evidence and prosecute matters in the Local / Magistrates Court on behalf of councils.  The course does not intend or suggest course participants will receive any formal law qualification.

Cost of enrolment covers all tuition, assessments and learning materials.

Class Size

To keep numbers to a manageable level for class participants each class will be limited to 12 participants. Extra classes will be scheduled for your region if numbers exceed class sizes.

We would require a minimum of 6 people per class to have a course run from your council, otherwise training will be conducted from our training rooms at Liverpool.  Candidates must have a reasonable amount of experience in the law enforcement field.

Course Content & Subjects

  • Laws applying to Admissible Evidence
  • The ‘Rules of evidence’ applicable to the relevant State or Territory
  • Laws applying to the giving of evidence in court
  • Public Speaking
  • Court protocols
  • Cross examination of a witness
  • Examining a Brief of Evidence and critiquing briefs for court
  • Scenarios and role plays

Students will be required to attend all 15 days (3 weeks) of face to face tuition over a three month period.

Please note that travel and accommodation fees for TMLE staff required to travel will apply and be invoiced to councils when travelling interstate and to country locations.

We are pleased to offer your staff a ‘Statement of Attainment’ which will be awarded to successful participants for the following subjects from the Certificate IV in Local Government (Regulatory Services).

This is will be part of a formal qualification recognised Australia wide.

  • Prepare council for legal proceedings
  • Give evidence in court
  • Prepare a brief of evidence

These subjects can be later used as RPL for future courses with these Units Of Competence listed within the qualification.
